Ezequiel Luna is now a CD Tenerife player. Although he played last year for the club he was on loan from Tiro Federal. There had been talk form them that they would sell him else where but finally CD Tenerife and they came to an agreement and he will now play for us for 4 years. He joined the players in La Palma yesterday Thursday as soon as the contract was signed.
The 2 friendly games in La Palma will be shown on Tenerife Television on Saturday and Sunday night at 8pm on Canal 4, this is a local channel. The first game against SD Tenisca is actually being played on Friday but will be shown on Saturday and the Sunday game against Santa Cruz de La Palma will be shown later in the day.

Los Christianos on the
The game against CD Marino is on the 5th of August at 9pm. Marino have placed posters all over the south of the Island so I am sure there will be a good crowd to see the game. Armada Sur are going as a grpoup to see the game as I am sure lots of others will.
The Club has announced that they will have a portable scanner to have with them whilst they are in La Palma. The scanner has been lent to them by Toshiba Medical.
There is talk in the AS newspaper that Luna should be signed in the next few hours. The club website still has nothing but it is to be hoped they will sign soon as it will give them the chance to go to the training in Barlovento, La Palma.
Saizar was again injured last night in the last session of training and therefore will not train this morning.
Aitor Núñez stated he is happy with how he is integrating in the group and that his first Impressions of Oltra as a trainer are very good. He mentioned how much he is looking forward to the friendly games as they will be a way to test the team.

The Cabildo of Tenerife has passed the plans for the renovation of the Sports city which belongs to CD Tenerife in Geneto-Los Baldíos and will also maintain the grass in the Helidoro Rodríguez López stadium for the following year. They will be investing 187.768,05 euros in these projects which will be carried out by a government company called Ideco.
In the Sports city they have this year paved the accesses and increased the size of the ancilary services including the changing rooms and the gym. These facilities can be rented from Ideco if needed.

Training started.
The team is training at the CIAT de Tíncer ground today.
In interviews yesterday Aitor Núñez stated that he didn't hesitate to sign for CD Tenerife as it is a historic club and that he was proud and happy for the chance to play in the first division.
Hector Sanchez said that he was pleased to be fit to be able to play for the team and that their abject was to stay in the first division.
Santiago Llorente when interviewed responded that the club was working as hard as possible to give the team the best chances this year. Of the players he talked that they were tanned, their weight seemed good ( ever a worry with holidays) and that they seemed happy and eager to train.
When asked about future signings he hoped that we will hear about Eziquel Luna within the next 72 hours and then explained that although the club would like to have the new players as early as possible the market this year was very difficult and nothing seemed to be moving. His dream is to find the best players as soon as possible.

We are going to reinforce all the lines.
"We are going to reinforce all the lines" said Santiago Llorente this week. With the exception of the goal Keeper the club C D Tenerife has announced that it will be contracting more players. With the contract renewal of Pablo Sicilia, Aragoneses and now Mikel Alonso the club has now move again to talks with Tiro Federal to see if there is a way for Luna to return next season. The Manager stated " we are not in a panic as we have a good base to work from, and with the present team deserve to be in the first division."
The club Website had more the 170,000 visits in June up 30,00 from their previous record in April 2009 of 136.899. This is an enormous increase and show how many people are interested in the club from all over the place. I have to say I check back most days as this is the location of most of my information and photos.
The mobile season ticket stand is on its way south next week so if you want to renew your season ticket there will be a desk in the Centro de Bricolaje y Ferretería Chafiras in Las Chafiras where you can collect your season ticket or pay to renew. From monday 20th July to the 1st of August. Opening times are Monday to Saturday from 11.00 a 15.00 and from 17.00 a 20.00 horas. The Club has announced that after 10 days sales 8,000 season tickets have been paid for including new ones and renewals.

Training starts, season tickets sales and Campus continue
The sale of season tickets started again today but there is only Tribuna for new sales.
Rumours abound on the internet and in the sports papers about the transfer market.
The big teams are starting summer training after their holidays.
The first teams back were Athletic de Bilbao, Athletico de Madrid, Real Madrid and Sevilla F.C. have all started back last week.
Most of the rest of the teams start back today including Deportivo de La Coruña, Málaga CF, Rácing de Santander, Valencia CF and Villarreal CF.
Tomorrow UD Almería y el Getafe CF are staring their campaign to get their players fit before the start oof the season other teams starting this week are RCD Espanyol y Atlético Osasuna (16 of July) así como el Xerez CD ( 17th of july).
The reigning champion starts back on the 20th the same date as Real Mallorca, Sporting de Gijón y Real Valladolid. The last 2 teams to start will be CD Tenerife and Real Zaragoza although it must be said both teams have come up form the second division which finished three weeks later than the first division. Not that Xerez is making any allowance for that.
The Campus training sessions for young players continues on its tour of the Islands. Today it starts in La Gomera and in the Ciudad Deportiva of the club. This is a great thing for young players all over the islands and a great way for the club to get a look at young players.

VALENCIA C.F., C.D. TENERIFE,
The President of the club Miguel Concepción collected the 3 trophies CD Tenerife won yesterday in Las Rozas in Madrid at the Federation offices. The trophies were for the first team the fair play trophy, for the second team the 3rd Division championship trophy and for the Juvenil A the Canarian Champion.
Rumor says the second signing for the 21 year old Athletico Madrid winger Aitor Núñez. The player has come up from the unior teams he can play on both sides is a serious confident player and has good technical skills with the ball at his feet. Whether this is a loan or a signing I am not sure but we will hear about it soon.

Queues but worth it
I am sorry I haven't blogged for the last 2 days. As lots of you know we are big football fans and as CD Tenerife our local team have been promoted to the first division we have decided to buy season tickets. The sale started yesterday and as there were only a limited amount of Under 23 seats (Theses were much cheaper) I needed to go yesterday.
I am not sure how many people were expected in the stadium to buy seats but there were lots more than the club expected. The desks opened at 10.oo and there had been fans waiting from the previous night. When we arrived the queue was half way around the stadium and about 300 metres inside the stadium.
This doesn't sound so much but inside the stadium they were queueing 6 deep. The photo below just shows the queue behind the seats but doesnt show how deep it was.
We were lucky at 5.45pm we entered the stadium and at 6.20pm they shut the stadium doors leaving the others outside to wait until the club had cleared the people inside. The 200 metres took a while to process. It then took 10 hours to move the 200 metres and get to the first desk. There they gave us out papers and paying then took including the queue to pay 30 mins. The lady I went with had to go at 6.45 and my son and I planned to get the bus back from Santa Cruz. at this time of night there are no more buses but on group stood near us in the queue were coming back to the south and gave us a lift. I was amazed there was no trouble. If someone tried to jump the line the people shouted but nothing else. And once you had been shouted at they went back to their position. The club gave away water at about 10.30 ish after we had been locked in a while and eventually let people out to get food. I don't know what it was like outside but there were a lot of police at one time. By the time we left at 4.30 am there were about 200 people waiting and they were eventually seen. The club worked over night to get everyone seen and the staff I talked to were tired but doing a great job. The man who did our season tickets said the most he had done in one go was 18. I only had 5 so I felt a lot better.
I am still tired but looking forward to going to the Armada Sur meeting tomorrow in the Royal Oak 2 at 7pm
I need to finish with a joke someone texted me last night.
Real Madrid fans knew that Cristiano Ronaldo would be coming to the club after Madrd signed Kaka, As everyone knows after a Brazilian you always get and itchy C***.
Sorry I couldn't resist.

The club anounced the prices for the season tickets yesterday. The press conference was at 1.30 but they didn't finally put the prices on their website until after 6pm.
There was aparently outcry in the city but when we worked out what we paid this year the prices were not much more.
Here are the prices. I haven't put the renewal prices here for C D Tenerife just new season tickets and seat prices.

Are these the season ticket prices and a new player
The club has announce they will hold a press conference on monday at 13.30 when the season ticket prices will be announced.
But there is floating around the Island a horror that the prices on the Zonablanquiazul.com website are true.
The San sebastian seats accordning to the site will almost double in price. This is an enormous increase. I am not sure if these are the prices and am waiting patiently to see but it would be a blow if they are especially as we need 3 season tickets.

Gossip time
It is very quiet on the CD Tenerife front. There is no real news on the website. The club announced the shop has now finished stocktaking and has reopened. They also remember the anniversary of the team going up in 1989 20 years ago today. There was an interview with Toño Hernandez, a player at the time. He states he will never forget playing for the club and the experience of being in the team the year they went up. He is now assistant coach for the club
I have heard various rumours about the cost of the season ticket and will not repeat any more as the prices will be announced out in the next couple of days. The website has a new button to click which says abonos 09/10 but all you get when you click it is the same "Coming soon" message.
The AS also mentions the anniversary and Manolo's renewal on his contract.

Players who are staying
In the last 24 hours there have been 2 great announcements.
Firstly yesterday afternoon it was stated that Ricardo one of our own from Puerto de la Cruz, will be signing for another 3 years. He started playing in the first team in the season 2006-07 and has this season converted into a key player for coach Jose Luis Oltra. He played in 35 games this season 33 of which he started in scoring one goal.
Goal Keeper Sergio Aragoneses signed this morning to stay in CD for another 3 years. The
Tenerife team came to an agreement with the Galician team where he was playing before and he will play for Tenerife until the summer of 2012. Sergio Aragoneses stated he was very happy to defend the Tenerife colours in the highest league. He is the only player in the history of the club to have gone up with the team twice from the second to the first league. He was a regular player and would have been automatically renewed if he had not been struck with pancreatic illness for 8 weeks. I am pleased he is staying as he has steady sure hands and shows no fear in his area.
