Players leaving or not

It states on the clubs website  that the decision has been made not to count with the services of Manolo Martínez, Gaizka Saizar, José Antonio Culebras y Ricardo Pérez de Zabalza, known as ‘Richi’ for the season 10/11.
The club thanked the players publicly for their time with the team and wished them all the best both personally and professionally in their future.

Negotiations have started with Hector Sánchez Cabrera who publically stated today he wants to stay and Ángel Luis Rodríguez Díaz. The only player left without information who has no contract is Juanlu. In his previous contract there was an agreement if he played a specific number of games he would be renewed. This has recently proved to be unenforceable but with the absence of information form the club it may well be that both sides have agreed that he can continue.

According to Ivan Bonales, who works for Canarian Television. The team will try in the next week to renew with Nino for 2 more years with an option for a third year. It remains to be seen if this is so.

Players pages

I though I would tell you all about the websites players have:
Juan Lu Hens has this one: link
Alfaro too: link
and the latest to have been bought to my attention is Mikel's: link

There has been talk again in the papers about if the club will buy somone during the winter break. Santiago Llorente says he will go on looking until the last moment and the president of the club says he will find the money if the Sports Director finds a player the club needs. This leaves everthing in the air but time is running out. We didn't actually sign Mikel Alonso last year until the 28th of January.

Tickets for the Zaragoza game go on sale from this morning at 10 am and will be on sale in the stadium, in Playa de las America and in Puerto de la cruz.

Gaizka Saizar rumor says will go to a second division club, favourite to the press seems to be Cadiz. The club website makes no comment, except to have a quote form the player saying "I am finding every training session better. I feel a need to play more to help my recuperation. I would prefer to play here but it is clear the situation here is complicated."

An interesting statistic is that in the 12 seasons that we played in the first division in half we scored more points in the second half of the season then the first. This may serve as encouragement as we begin the second half of this season at the weekend

The Spanish football federation would like to take on of the games each week and play it on a Monday and on of the second division games to be played in a Friday. They hope to have the clubs approve this before the end of the season so we may well be going to Santa Cruz on a Monday evening instead of a Saturady or Sunday. Teams in Europe will not play on Monday so it will be the little teams. It may at least mean that we move away from 4pm on Sunday.
