Jacobo Sanz became the third player to sign for CD Tenerife yesterday after he passed his medical. He is on loan from PAOK de Salónica but hopes to make the transition back to Spanish football.

Aitor Sanz stated the team needs to be more regular and not have the gaps it had at the beginning and end of last season.

Diego Ifrán could be the forward that Cevera/Alonso are looking for. The player from Uruguay played on loan last season for La Coruña after the winter break where he scored 4 goals in 11 games. The fans and team were happy with his performance. His agent says he also has offers from Betis & Valladolid

Juanjo Expósito who is starting his second season with the club having joined last January. He stated how much he liked Barlovento, the atmosphere and the weather for pre-season tranining.

CD Tenerife could today sign their third player. This could be Jacobo Sanz Ovejero. The keeper has played in La Liga for Numancia where he recied the second fewest goals. He also played for Valladolid, Real Jaen & Palencia. Most recently he played for PAOK  in the Greek league

Alfonso Serrano saw another player sign somewhere else. The mainlander  David Rodríguez, who CD Tenerife had expressed an interest in has signed for AD Alcorcón for 3 seasons. The player had scored 60 goals in 179 games in the  Liga Adelante before moving to Brighton.

CD Tenerife presented their kits yesterday. The first is white the second blue with a black cross and the third is clack with a pink splash

Alfonso Serrano announced last Thursday that the club would be signing a forward very soon. There is a chance he will come from abroad.

Team is slowly coming together

There has been very little news around the last few days but hopefully now the team are starting to train there will be interesting theigs going on and the press will tell us all about it.


Aitor Sanz is quoted as saying this season we need to do a little better then last season

Defender Unai Albizua Urquijo has signed for CD Tenerife for one year on loan from Athletic Club de Bilbao. He is a central defender but can also play on the right.

Club President Miguel Concepcion launched a challenge to Cesar Gomez, if they really want to buy shares in the club then they should depoit the said 30 million euros with a Notary and he will call an emergency AGM

CD Tenerife will be playing Ibarra on the 2nd of August

The club is very calm about the suposed match rigging. Not only is it unlikely to come to anything because the team had lost so many matches before but previous experience shows this is very difficult to prove.

The LFP has denounced CD Tenerife and Sporting de Gijon for possible match rigging in the last game o the season this year. (perhaps somone could tell them we had already lost 6 in a row and there was now no chance of doing anything)

Espanyol will be the team CD Tenerife will play in the Trofeo Teide on the 9th of August for the Trofeo Teide in los Cuartos La Orotava.
They will also be playing Ibarra on the 2nd of August


Ängel Galvan CD Tenerife keeper still doesn't know where his future will be. The player who was on loan to Getafe and has been playing in their B team will not be returning to the capital this year and CD Tenerife have not told him what his future holds

Second version of the takeover

Quico de Diego the B team trainer has had his contract renewed for another year. Afdter a season where he led the team almost to the higher division going out in the last of three rounds of the playoffs against UD Samozas

In a statement issued by CD Tenerife yesterday they stated their version of the offer given to them by Cesar Gomez. Their version is very different from the press conference held Monday.

Youth player Jairo Izquierdo have had his contract upgraded from amateur to a three year professional contract. He is expected to take part in preseason training and then the club will decide if he is to go out on loan this season or if he will play for the first team.

30,000,000 offer for CD Tenerife rejected

Big news of the day is the possible offer to purchase the club. Ex-player Cesar Gomez has put together a consortium who were looking to buy 40% of the shares. Not clear what went wrong but the present president rejected the offer. There will be a press conference later in the week to state why




Another name wich has sounded for  CD Tenerife via Alfonso Serrano and Alvaro Cervera is forward Alfredo Ortuño, who shone in Segunda last season. He hopes to do pre-season in Granada and convince their trainer Caparros that he should stay but if not he will be oon the transfer list.
This Friday the 4th of July CD Tenerife will present the dates and details of their Season ticket campaign
