Pablo is home in Gran Canaria, he hopes to get well soon to help the team.

Pablo Sicilia is now at home in Gran Canaria, with his family. The l CD Tenerife defender was operated on last Tuesday in Madrid for the injury he received on the field in the match against Las Palmas. “Many people have contacted me to wish me well”, said the player in thanks for the support he has received. His only thought now is “to get better and play again”.
Pablo Sicilia was allowed to leave the hospital after the operation on his ligaments in his right leg. The CD Tenerife defender will now stay in Gran Canaria with his family. He commented today “I feel a lot better” to the club website. “The first few hours after the operation I was very uncomfortable, especially Tuesday night”, he admitted, “although now I feel better”. “I was able to come home to be with my family” he added.
The blue and white number “6” is as ever optimistic about his recovery for the next few months though he admits they will be hard. “I have had a lot of support, and this is great”, he thanked everyone. He pointed out that the club president had phoned him to see how he was and had said that the most important thing was Pablo's recovery. “I thanks everyone for their support” he repeated.
Sicilia explained that “when the accident happened and even after, I didn't think it was so bad. Not until Monday when I had tests done did I realise how serious my leg was”. He pointed out that “the operation was really quick”. “The two doctors Juanjo Valencia & Pedro Guillén communicated really well and now I just need to concentrate on getting better, that is the most important thing, so I can come back and play again”.
Lastly, Pablo Sicilia indicated that “I know when I finally get back on the grass I will play well and I hope to be able to help the team achieve the aims for the season”

Pablo Sicila expected to recover quickly.

The health of Pablo Sicilia was a concern last Sunday after he was injured in the Teide Trofeo against Real Zaragoza. Both teams played well but part of the battle was the constant kicking that took place of both sides. For a friendly there was more then a fair share of violence. It didn't look good when Pablo was taken off after an injury an a tackle with Braulio. It would now seem after two days in which the players injuries have been looked at that it is not too bad. He is sure the injury "isn't too bad" and hopes today to "feel better." He folowed this by saying "The truth is I was in a lot of pain after the gameand the area still hurts although I am recovering. For a preseason game there were a lot of fouls. There was more kicking than usual and things were a little out of hand but it was us as well as the Zaragora players. Any way what counts is we played well andit seems we will all recover quickly form our injuries," he stated reminding that the team can feel lucky that none of the players are badly hurt. "I liked the way the team played against a team from a higher division for the whole 90 minutes,"he commented. "Of all the times I have played the Teide Trophy this was the game with the biggest audience" he stated. When asked about the fans he replied "It shows how much the team means to the island, it is special and the fans are enthuastic." I was actually on the touch line when he came off the field and although he was in pain he took the time to shke hands whith many fans. This is one of hte many reasons he is a very popular palyer with the fans. Pable finished by saying how pleased he was with his position in the group, "I am happy to have been chosen to play as it was a great game but the Mister(trainer) still has time to make changes."
Others injured during the game were Omar and Sergio Aragoneses who the team obviously thought had broken something as he had an emergency x-ray and a magnetic scan yesterday. Both were clean and he is recovering.
Pablo and Omar both went with the squad to Alicante so the medical team must think they will be fine soon.

The president has stated that he hopes to anounce the arrival of the second new central defender this week.
