Omar and Nino look towards the next game.

“We are having a really bad time after Monday's game as the loss was hard. We need to get up and move on looking and thinking only about the game on Saturday. We had the first shot at goal and the ball hit the post. Then they did a lot of damage. But now we need to think about Numancia and adding points”.
Nino sounded convinced when he was interviewed by the press on Wednesday in the El Mundialito grounds. The CD Tenerife player called for the fans to have confidence in the team and seemed convinced that the group has the factors needed to change the dynamics in the last games.
“Everything changes from week to week but we need to be calm. I know that we are capable of moving forward. The team will go on. Although things are not good”.added the player from Andalusia.
“In Soria we will go all out for the win. We will gift nothing to nobody”, he concluded.
The other player interviewed was Omar Ramos. The local player said, “We are in a complicated situation. We need to think about the next game. We can only go on and look for the points to save the team. We tried out best and on Monday it didn't work out. We are having a really bad moment and we need to fight to get out of it”.
“This was my 50th league game. Now I need to score. It seems to get closer but never quite happens” said the lad from Tenerife.

"I just hope I get the chance to play" said local player Omar Ramos

Carlos Bellvís & Omar Ramos were the two players who were interviewed in the press room in the Mundialito this Tuesday. Before the Canarian Derby next Sunday. The defender and midfielder were both sure that a victory would make the fans happy and because of this promised to work hard for the game.

The blue and white defender stated that, “the next game is very important for everyone. The Canarian players above all, they have told us of the rivalry at a CD Tenerife-UD La Palmas game. I know how important this is and we would like to win especially in our stadium”.

Bellvís admitted that he hopes “to make good the draw that we achieved in Ponferrada with three additional points. We need to think only about us and our game and go all out to win. We want to bring the fans some happiness. We are playing in the Heliodoro and think we can manage to win”.

For his part Omar Ramos also referred to the derby: “It is a very important game and if we win it will help to motivate us. We know what the game means to the island and the fans. It is different to any other game and we need to beat Las Palmas and go on winning games to move forward”.

The local player couldn't hide his hope to play: “I have the chance to live something that I have always seen from outside. It makes my hair stand on its end just to think about the derby. Lets see if I have the chance to live it this time on the field. Those who get to play need to do their very best as it is such a special game. Interviews with the players and Mandia after the loss against Albacete

After the loss against Albacete it is hard to explain what happened. Pablo Sicilia, Daniel Kome y Omar Ramos were the three players whose turn it was to be interviewed in the Heliodoro after the game and to explain what happened. The players were all sad about the result and felt the expulsion of Luna left them all affected.
Sicilia: “The team started well, we dominated Albacete up to the play where Luna was sent off. This changed the game. Even then, CD Tenerife was still looking to score. We made an enormous effort and there was no joy for it. We need to try to make a change, although the situation is difficult. No one expected that his late in the season the team would be so bad. There is nothing left but to stick together and try harder. What ever I say now it won't make the fans any less cross”.

Kome: “The situation is complicated. We didn't count on losing this game. We started well but the expulsion of Luna left everything in the wrong direction. There is nothing but to keep working to make this better between us. The team was playing well even after the sending off. In the second half Albacete had no shots at goal. The fans are there and the team is there and between us we can improve. We are going to Ponferrada and need to try to win the game. From there we can win more games. I can't value other things, the management are there for that. The player need to be out there working hard. Today we deserved at least a point”.

Omar: “We started out controlling the game up to the sending off. With eleven we could have won this game. After the red card we tried everything but we had no luck in scoring a goal. The idea now is to try to get three points in the next game. This match was really important for us. There is lots of league left and we need to keep working hard to reach our goals. With one less we had the game under control. I can't comment on decisions that are the clubs to make. The most to blame are the players ourselves”.
“It is difficult to explain the result. With eleven player on the field we were in control and with ten too. When you are down everything that you do can cause more bad effects”. This is how Juan Carlos Mandía started his press conference on Sunday after the end of the match which C.D. Tenerife lost against Albacete Balompié.
The maximum responsible trainer for the blue and whites said “everyone had the feeling we would win the game. We need to be the team that you saw in the first minutes of the game. Who made the other side uncomfortable and unable to attack. If we make less mistakes it will cost us less. When we were 0-0 we had chances”.
For Mandía, “today we weren’t inferior to Albacete. If we hadn't received the goal we would have had more chances to win. The key point is to make less mistakes give our rivals very little space and not let in goals”.
That said, Mandía showed that he hoped the situation would change: “I believe that at any moment what we are doing will show results. But to get there we need to be consistent”.
“There are many games left and many points in play. Our time needs to come”, said the man from Galicia when asked about what options CD Tenerife had to escape relegation. Mandía also commented that he wasn't afraid of possibly being sacked that “the club employed me to train, not to value someone else's work”.
Juan Carlos Mandía again expressed his thanks to the fans for their fabulous support in spite of the results: ”the fans are going to push. The loyalty that the supporters have with the club you don't see very often. What we professionals need to do is work hard and not commit mistakes. The feelings of the fans can't be mistaken. They know we will do our best out there”.
For the Tenerife coach part of the reaction that the team are going to have comes form the reinforcement in the way of players who are expected to arrive in the next weeks. Mandia explained this in the following terms: “The club is looking for players. It is better that they arrive earlier than later. But that is a question for other departments though I know it is not easy”.
Juan Carlos Mandía concluded his interview with the statement “I am really fed up. I hurt for the club and the city. The only thing I can promise is that we will continue working”.

Thursday Interview with Omar Ramos & Marc Bertran

Omar Ramos has played in the last ten games, all the games in fact this season for CD Tenerife. The player who came up from the CDT youth teams is playing more than ever before. Although the season has not been good he has had the chance to play. When asked about the season in the press room today he started by commenting, “It is true we were under enormous pressure to win a game. Now we have the first win and we are all more relaxed. But still we have done anything yet. We need to make an effort and go on until we triumph. At home we are very strong. We have improved and finally we have our first victory. Now we have another game at home and it is important we win three more points”.
When asked about his participation in the team he stated that “in some of the games things didn’t work out completely. I know I need to play more consistently. And for that I need to work harder in training. The team has some great players and anyone who slacks will be left out of the team.” he added.
Marc Bertrán was the other Tenerife player who was interviewed today. The player from Catalonia started by advising that they “needed to keep everything in perspective. The win on Sunday was a great help but the team is still in a difficult position and there is a long way to go. It’s going to be hard”.
“We are much better since the new coach arrived. We can look at the future with optimism. The aim is to try to move out of the relegation positions as soon as possible. We have several games without a loss and the victory against Elche confirmed we are improving. We need to move up the table and see how high we can go”, he added.
Bertrán in his interview talked of how important the solidarity in defense was. “It was really important not to let goals in: teams who receive few goals are teams who win. All together we are doing much better”.
“I want to add my grain of sand and the better each player plays the better the team is in total. The plan and our desire are to play game by game,” he concluded.

Tickets for Sunday's game go on sale today until Sunday before the game.

Week in La Palma

Carlos Bellvís & Omar Ramos were the two players who spoke to the press on Sunday in the press area at Los Rodeos airport minutes before their Islas Airways flight to La Palma. There they will start their stage of the pre-season training. The two players talked about how they saw the upcoming season and the objectives signaled by the club.

Bellvis started stating that "my impressions are good. We are enjoying great training sessions, both morning and evening all with the ball. We are getting to know each other. Both the new players and the youths form the second team. We are now going to La Palma to carry on the same routine and work hard." When asked about his health problems bearing in mind that last season he couldn't play at 100 %  he commented "I feel better. I worked during the holidays with a physiotherapist and now I have less pain. I have worked at strengthening the groin area and right now there is no pain. I do have cramps but that is normal at this stage in the year."
He was also asked about Grégory Beranger, the player who he will need to fight for a place to play. "In La Palmas he was injured but in Numancia he played well. Last season he had similar injury problems to me. He is a good full back. What is clear is that this year the competition is going to be hard and that is good for a team".

Bellvís didn't hide the plan for the team, which is clearly that they will fight to go back to the highest level of football in Spain: "We are going to fight to go back up. We need a strong team to go as high as possible. The base is formed and what is certain is I see this as a good group. The players signed seem to me to be the right ones, they add to the squad".

Omar Ramos , "I am starting my fifth pre-season with the club and I will try to do the best I can. We are all happy and working hard. The idea is to be in great condition for the start of the league." the midfielder started, obviously showing signs that the new trainer Arconada wanted the team to show. He commented that the “míster” is a great trainer and that he likes things to be orderly.
Omar Ramos knows that he is one of the great hopes for CD Tenerife in the upcoming season . In his second professional season for the club, having spent the first season in the premier division the player who came up throuth the youth teams explained "Last year was for me a great year but for the club and the team it was not so good. The idea this year is to carry on working hard and hope there are no injuries. We need to charge our batteries so we can give the season our all. I hope to play better this year. To manage that the first thing I need to do is get fit, both for me and for the club”.

When asked about the competition over his place Omar has clear that the fight with Dani Kome will be hard "Everyone wants to play. Competition is good for you. My objective is to train as hard as possible to show the coach that I am fit to play in the team".

Omar Ramos in an interview on the UEFA website

Omar Ramos a star in CD Tenerife's team this year has an article in the UEFA website. Here
The article is in Spanish and although I have tried to find it on the English site it doesn't seem to have been translated.
The winger has created interest this year especially with the Spanish federation under 21's who called him up to play for them.
The leader in the article states "One of the most promising players in the first few months of this season is young player Omar Ramos. The left winger who has only played just 2 years in the third division and is now elbow to elbow with some of the best players on the planet" There is an interview with the player and 2 photos.
