Monday morning

As many of you know we not only have the shop in Playa Fañabe but also run the shop owned by the club in the Callejón del Combate.
This leads to seeing many players come and go. Something I really like, it also feeds my need to travel with the team away as I see them so often. Not sure if that's good or not.
This morning Omar Ramos was about which I think will mean there is an announcement about where he is going. There are rumours he will sign for Huesca who will then loan him to Valladolid. The reason for this is Valladolid are in controlled bankruptcy and struggle to sign anyone. Rumour also says the club will maintain the possibility to earn a percentage on any future signing the player may have.
This can be a great help, if you look at Malaga, the will need to pay 10% to Las Palmas on the money they receive from Rubin Kazan for Roldon or even the money CDT received for Dos Santos when he went to play in Portugal.
Training this week is in the Mundialito Wednesday they play Granadilla and Saturday after training in the Heliodoro the team fly to Las Palmas to play the second round of the Copa Canarias Mahou.

Sebastián Dubarbier & Melli were the two players who met the media on Wednesday in the press room in the El Mundialito grounds.

The mid fielder commented that “we have two consecutive wins and we need to continue this way to move as fast as we can out to the bottom of the table. I see a squad with a need to do well and improve and the desire to win more games”.

Beranger comments on the team spirit

The CD Tenerife first team completed the weeks training with a last session this morning, Saturday, in the sports city in Castellon. They started at 11am Canarian time and concluded sixty minutes later.
After individual warm up, there was ball practice, followed by a game in half the field. Finally towards the end of the session, Julio Álvarez had muscle difficulties in his right leg, and couldn't complete the training.

Juanlu & Beranger were the players interviewed this Saturday after the morning training session in Castellon. The two CD Tenerife players both agreed that the game on Sunday against Villarreal B presents itself as a great opportunity for the team to show all the good things they have trained in the last few months.
“We are here with every intention to repeat and improve all the skills we have shown this year. We need to work hard as you always must to win away form home”, Juanlu Hens started to explain.
For the midfielder it is most important “to keep the ball under control as much as possible. This week we have been over this again and again we have trained hard but this has been the most important point”.
About their rival, he pointed out “They are a difficult team to beat and w will need to concentrate. Villarreal B are no easy option. We can make no mistakes. This second team are full of rapid players who know how to apply pressure. In attack they can count on important players. Our defense needs to be really solid”.
When asked about his performance to date, Juanlu has things clear “every player needs to give his all. Personally I feel good, with a desire to help the group”.

For his part, Gregory Beranger considered that “we are on a long path. We are improving, we have improved, above all at home. The next point is to win away and bring back three points to the island”.
“We have done things right and wrong, and we need to work hard to maintain the right line for more minutes. We are growing”, he added when he was asked about his impressions on the teams level to date.
In his personal ability the Frenchman noted that “In the last game I had more work, I suffered more. But the opposition also has a right to play. In a team you need to work together”.
“I fight day by day to reach my best fitness level, although the dynamics of the team doesn't help. Being at the bottom of the table is always hard and you see every mistake. We need time and to work hard to improve”, he explained.
“Our rival doesn't look like a second team. They are a team with expert players. We need to go out and give our all. With luck they will have a bad day and we will gain three points”, he finished.

Final training session of the season

The first team of Club Deportivo Tenerife will take their last training session of the season on Tuesday morning at 10 am in the Complejo Federativo Juan Padrón Morales also know as the Mundalito.

At the end of this (about 11.30) the team Sports Director, Santiago Llorente, will offer an informative talk infornt of the media present in the press room of the Mundialito training ground.

The players for their part will start their holidays after the training session.

There seems to be a feeling on several CDT forums that the something important will be announced.

Also in the news is a comment from Vitolo a Tenerife footballer now playing in Greece for Paok. The team has come third this year and has the right to the play offs for Champions League. Inspite of this Vitolo says he  " still have the doors open for Tenerife. This team gave me everything and if at a given time I thought I could help them I would come home even in the second division." Vitolo leaves the chance to come back to Tenerife because of the enormous affection he feels for the club from his home. He and his family are all season ticket holders in the club. He finished "perhaps for other teams I wouldn't be available but with CD Tenerife we could talk and come to a satisfactory agreement."

Training started for the game against Valencia.

The team trained for 80 minutes this morning in the Mundialito training grounds. The trainer José Luis Oltra, talked to the players for a few minutes before they started. This week there is training for the game in Mestalla against Valencia on Sunday.
They warmed up running a few rounds of the field and then did exercises with possession and circulation of the ball. At this point the players were divided into 2 groups. For those who played last Saturday there was recuperation and game in half a football pitch for those reserves who hadn't played. Kome was not involved and worked on his own with Adrián Gutiérrez.
Tomorrow the players have a day off and then training starts again on Wednesday in the Mundialito grounds.

The club gave thanks again to the fans who have attended games both on Saturday and this season generally. There has been an average attendance of over 19,000 fans.
The club is trying to organise trips to Valencia so fans can go to the last game.

Míkel Alonso, stated that the team needed to continue inproving to win games "Valladolid if you look at the league tables is a comparable to us although they are playing at home." Training before Xerez

At the end of today's training Head coach jose Luis Oltra gave the list of the playrs called up for tomorrows game. They are: Sergio Aragoneses, Luis García, Aitor Núñez, Pablo Sicilia, Ezequiel Luna, Manolo Martínez, Bellvís, Ayoze, Kome, Omar, Juanlu, Nino, Ángel, Richi, Román, Mikel Alonso, Alfaro y Dinei.
Missing from the last list are Culebras y Saizar, returning Manolo Martínez from injury and Román form 5 yellow cards and contract details..

They trained this morning for 1 hour and 40 mins After warming up the team practised specific plays and then played a game in a smaller space. On Friday the team trained in the Heliodoro Lopez, the president of the Armada Sur was in the stadium buying tickets and stopped to watch. He said that Nino was practising shots at goal long after the rest of the players were gone so hopefully we will see as good a goal as we saw the last time CD Tenerife played against Xerez.

This coming Sunday the new gates ordered at the end of the last season as part of the work that needed doing for the stadium to be aproved for use for the first division have been installed and will go into action. Thus far the gates are in Herradura Baja, San Sebastian baja and gate 25 in San Sebastian. I think the gate 25 is mentioned separately as this is where the boxes are.

The grat thing with these gates is that the visitors themselves actually get to pass their ticket or season ticket across a reader which should make the entrace of the fansmuch quicker. This system is in use in many stadiums across the frist division.

The gates will be open from 14.30 so that the fans in genmeral and particularly the mentioned gates will have access without any rush or panic to their seats before the game starts.

Tomorrow's game against Real Sociedad in the final of the Teide Trophy

After 2 training sessions yesterday (Friday) the team is preparing for tomorrows game against Real Sociedad at 8.30 pm in Estadio Los Cuartos in La Orotava. This is the final of the Trofeo Teide being played. This is by far their most difficult match so far. Real Sociedad are a Basque team in the second division and were in Primera until 2 seasons ago.
The team started training at 10 am and worked in groups of 3. The session was 80 minutes long and they practiced shots at goal. There will be another session tomorrow morning before the game an on Monday they are off to Murcia for their next leg of summer training.
