Luis Garcia speaks

Luis García: “We are excited to start back to work. That way we can forget the pain of the end of last season.”
The CD Tenerife keeper is confident that the team can "have a great season which ends with going back up to the first division". Luis Garica is for the third season Keeper with CD Tenerife. He made these declaractions to the club website.

Are you working hard for these last days of your holidays?
Thats it. We are all keen to get back to work, because the end of last season was painful. Now we need to make things better. Lets see if we can form a good team and end the season with our return to the elite division.

Are you keen to get back to playing?
Yes. The league finished early and I didn't play all year. But now we start from scratch  with a new trainer and I want to work hard to get the chance to play.

This season you will have Gonzalo Arconada as trainer. Are you pleased about this change?
I think José Luis did a great job, But the sports director has decided the team needed a change and I hope this will bring us luck and we will have a great year.

The new team is starting to form with the arrival of Antonio Hidalgo. ¿Are you confident that Santiago Llorente  will manage to make a group with guarantees?
For sure,  Santiago had demonstarted that in the first year, when he foremd a team to go up and that is what we did. We need to have patience as the market is hard right now. The club has said it will make an effort to have a team that is fit to achieve the higest positions and I am sure the sports director will bring good players who we will receive with open arms.

¿What message would you send to the fans?
I have been here 2 years and they have never failed us. I just ask that they stay the same. There will be difficult moments and we need their help. We need to stick together to overcome this hard year.

Lastly, ¿Are you following the world cup?, ¿Do you think Spain will win on Sunday?
Thats what we all want. Spain, Is actually a better team than Holland, but football is football and this above all is a difficult game. We are here at a moment of unique oportunity and I am confident that at the end the triumph will be ours.
